Introducing DiveMates
For the last couple of months some major changes have been happening in the Salt Lake City dive community. Some of you may have noticed that SportCove Scuba has closed the doors of it's retail shop. Sad, but true, the store is no longer open. However, that's not necessarily a bad thing. What the instructors of SportCove Scuba wanted to do more than anything was to offer very high quality scuba diving instruction and to travel. And that's what we're doing now, at DiveMates!
Meet the instructors...
DivesMates will give you the most personal instruction of anyplace in the valley because we provide each student with two instructors anytime they are training in a pool or open water.
Brent Beutler: Brent received his OWSD certification while on vacation in Puerto Vallarta several years ago, fell in love with diving and then returned to continue his dive education. He is now IDC Staff instructor. Brent loves to teach and spends extra time explaining why and making sure all your questions are answered. Besides diving off Mexico, Brent has dove Fiji, Hawaii, the Channel Island and in a lot of the local lakes and reservoirs.
Ken Hansen: Ken took his first dive at the State park on the Island of Cozemel 14 years ago, and has been diving ever since. Ken is now a Master Scuba Diver Trainer and enjoys hands on and in the water training. Ken loves diving in tropical locations and has dove at many exotic locations such as Tahiti, Puerto Vallarta, Cozumel, Bahamas, Hawaii, Channel Islands and others.

DiveMates offers the best scuba training available at the most affordable rates in the Salt Lake valley. From the entry level Open Water Diver course through the top end of recreational diving, the Master Scuba Diver certification, all levels and all specialty courses are available. We are committed to offering even more continuing education on a schedule, and location that meets each divers needs. No matter what level you've achieved, we have something more for you. If you've reached the Master Scuba diver level you may want to consider professional dive instructor training, starting with Divemaster and continuing through Master Instructor. It's all available through Dive Mates.
Travel...
Some of the finest scuba travel is now available through DiveMates. We're in the planning stages on many travel opportunities around the world and we'll be letting you know about them as soon as all the details are available. check the Travel pages for the latest information on all of our planned trips. Where do we teach ...
We believe in using community pools. We can teach at many of the area high schools and recreation centers. We do a lot of our specialty courses at Blue Lake, Fish Lake, Strawberry Reservoir, Deer creek Reservoir and others. We take the opportunity to teach continuing education on almost every event we hold.
